The DTPC is co-chaired by Mr. Peter Cheung (SBS, former Director of Intellectual Property Department of HKSAR) and Christopher TO (former Chairman of Hong Kong Internet Registration Corporation, former Member of ICANN Nomination Committee, and former Secretary-General of Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre), and consisted of 20 members who are renowned experts and scholars in Intellectual Property (IP), domain name and dispute resolution from 9 from jurisdictions, namely Mainland China, Hong Kong, United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Switzerland, France, Germany, and Korea.
Dot Trademark Policy Committee is mandated primarily to:
(i) Consider issues of decision-making and governance as a whole when developing policies;
(ii) Consult best practices, legislation, and regulations in developing policies;
(iii) Facilitate the exchange of information and ideas in relation to formulation of domain name registration rules and dispute resolution policy for Dot Trademark
The committee normally meets twice a year to perform the following functions:
(i) Regularly review and revamp existing rules and policies for the Dot Trademark;
(ii) Interpret provisions of Dot Trademark policies;
(iii) Recommend and refine on the existing procedures of the Registry.
